A Little Update
I’ll do my best to keep this short, but I wanted to let you in on a little of what’s going on over here so you can keep up with some of the changes…
If you’ve been following along, you know that we recently finished up the produce stand and opened it for business. It sounds all exciting and official, but hardly anybody knows we’re here, and we’ve sold a few beans and some cucumbers since opening. That’s okay, I’m going to keep at it, and eventually, I know that things will change as we work on getting the word out there.
Because of the produce stand, I started a new Facebook account. I really, really didn’t want to do this, and I have a lot of reasons for not wanting to come back on. For starters, the 7 months after deactivating my account were extremely productive. It’s amazing how easily you can waste time without even realizing it! But it’s really the best way for me to reach local people for right now and get the word out about the stand. So I started a new page… not a business page, just a personal page under Spring Lake Homestead.
I’m shifting my focus with this account, and I hope you understand if we don’t like or comment on posts or pages… I looked at my news feed once and got irritated within the first few posts and had to remind myself that I don’t need to spend my time on there. I’ll be checking in for comments, updating with pictures and news of what’s in the stand and the occasional update about other things around here, but that’s about it. I still ask that pictures of the kids be kept to a minimum for their privacy, and I ask that you do not post things to my timeline or tag me in things unless it pertains to our stand, business, or blog.
As for the blog, I’m finally going to go through all of my old posts and working on updating. When we made some changes about 2 years ago to the site and some of the original post pictures were lost. I have been needing to go back and add them back in. Some posts that are more of a journal entry for me have been/will be archived for our own personal reference, and anything that you might be more interested in for a reference will be updated with more accurate information and pictures. It’s likely going to be a very long and slow process, but hopefully it makes the site better for everyone all around in the end.
We are currently shifting gears… I’m trying to decide just how I want to ultimately format the blog, we are working on some new business endeavors that we aren’t quite ready to discuss yet, the kids will be starting classes for the school year, and I need to start focusing on harvesting and preserving from the garden, on top of working out the details on how I will run the produce stand for the rest of the year and into the future. There’s a lot going on, so I may end up being even less active on here for awhile.
If you have questions for me, feel free to email, reach out through our contact page, or through the new Facebook page!
Love~Danielle
